Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

The candidate will be managing the national assessments for Full Time and Part Time IIE qualifications.  This requires an individual to be an effective problem solver and communicator to both sites and the Central Academic Team (CAT).

Key Performance Area:

Management of Academic Operations 

  1. Assessments
    • Compile the national formative assessment timetables for IIE programmes.
    • Ensure all sites have the correct question paper and memos as per the assessment cycle for the different offerings
    • Manage assessment queries from sites and escalate to CAT if required.
    • Responsible for monitoring that all assessment results are captured timeously on the administrative system
    • Ensure Phase out qualification results are captured correctly and that the administration is followed through for these respective programmes, across years (both online and hard copy).

 

  1. Moderation
    • Manage internal and external moderation
      • Ensure tracking systems are up to date and sites receive timeous feedback
      • Contract internal moderatos aligned with specifications as per policy
      • Ensure sites upload correct documents and follow up as per the timeline
      • Forward correct documents to internal moderator as per the timeline
      • Keep moderation tracking systems up to date

Certification monitoring 

Certification

  • Assist sites with their graduation lists, by ensuring that the respective timelines are met.
  • Responsible for monitoring students€™ outstanding documents.
  • Escalate concerns/ queries and ensure that it is resolved timeously.

Training and Development

  • Provide ongoing training and support to sites on policies and processes.
  • Amend processes in line with policy changes.

Contribution to the Institutions vision and mission 

  • Create a culture of teaching and learning on sites through efficient implementation of academic operational processes
  • Ensure the name of the institute is not brought into disrepute
  • Aligning processes to the vision and mission of the institute
