Job Purpose:

Direct management of academic delivery and overseeing the management of academic programmes under the supervision of the Principal and Academic Manager. The mandate includes managing the operational efficiency of the academic team and overseeing the student support function.

Key Performance Area:

Policies and Procedures

  • Implementation of academic policies
  • Approval of students€™ academic requests (exception apps)
  • Controlling assessment procedures e.g. security and invigilators
  • Graduation: manage the graduation process on campus, including tracking of outstanding documents

Operations Management 

  • Updating of timetable on SAM with amendments as required
  • Assessment: Formative €“ release, scripts collection, upload on the system, release of marks
  • Manage the CASS release on campus
  • Monitoring moderation process
  • Manage assessment application process
  • Manage communication to all stakeholders regarding changes in timetables, materials, assessments and general updates
  • Ensuring that results are received, captured and moderated
  • Ensuring that academic reports are distributed timely

Roll Over Process

  • Manage the roll over process during annual registration period/s

Personnel management

  • Recruitment of new personnel
  • Management of staff, i.e., performance, KPA reviews, training and development, leave and any other requirements

General Management

  • Oversee the Customer service function for all full time students
  • Ensure all student queries are resolved
  • Manage academic meetings
  • Chair Operations Meetings
  • Manage all IIE requests and queries
  • Assist the teams with all Internal and external audits
  • Manage, motivate and develop operations teams in their duties
  • Ensure all student queries are resolved


Degree, preferably post graduate degree

Work Experience:

3 - 5 Year(s) Experience in an academic administration position 

3 - 5 Year(s) Experience with student development and student support

3 - 5 Year(s) 

General management experience; including:-

  • Recruitment and selection of resources
  • Disciplinary Management
  • Performance Management
