Job Purpose:

Rosebank College is looking for Lecturers with at least 2 years working experience and minimum of 2 years lecturing at a higher education provider (public or private sector) in the Faculty of Humanities. 

Key Performance Area:

  • Teaching curriculum outcomes as per contract hours
  • Briefing students for assignments and projects
  • Marking assessments and providing feedback
  • Presenting class marks and feedback to the head of programme
  • Actively engaging with current trends in teaching and learning strategies within the Rosebank College environment

Education:

Candidate must have:

Ideal:

  • A 3 Year diploma / degree in Journalism

 

Alternatively:

  • A degree in one of the Applied Humanities fields with creative writing on undergraduate level up to third year degree level;
    BTech where Journalism/ Creative Writing has been a major for all 4 years.
  • A Degree in Media Studies where Internet Journalism or New Media modules formed part of the curriculum

Work Experience:

Candidate must have:

  • Lecturing experience in Journalism
  • A practising journalist who writes for Magazines or similar publications
  • A media practitioner who has work experience within the Magazine industry, having written or edited for them
  • A practising journalist who writes for Magazines or similar publications
  • A media practitioner who has work experience within the Magazine industry, having written or edited for them
