Teaching & Learning Manager

Job Purpose:

To provide academic leadership in maintaining a strong academic culture at Rosebank College, an educational brand of the Independent Institute of Education. The NPM:T&L is responsible for enabling sound academic practices across its various campuses and supporting faculties in making principled decisions that impact student success. It is their responsibility to ensure Teaching and Learning strategies are adopted and implemented effectively and consistently across campuses.

Key Performance Area:

Lead campus academic teams in implementing and maintaining sound policy driven academic practices on Rosebank College campuses

  • Assessing quality of lecturer development, monitoring implementation and evaluating its impact
  • Ensuring that engagement opportunities (eg. Orientation) are effectively planned for, delivered and evaluated
  • Marker training for internal moderation

Guide national academic decision making in support of faculty improvement interventions, in conjunction with the Heads of School

  • Advise on academic interventions based on results analysis 
  • Instructional and pedagogical guidance in development of faculty specific bridging material

Accountable for ensuring relevant feedback and decisions between brand and IIE/CAT is actioned timeously to improve student success

  • Representing RC at the Teaching and Learning Committee meetings
  • Interaction with the IIE in granting re-run opportunities

Ensuring the relevance of academic practices in line with current educational standards

  • Education relevant studies

  • Honours Degree in Education


  • Specialism in education management or higher education

Work Experience:

  • 3 years as Head of department, senior lecturer
  • 2 years Lecturing experience in a Higher Education setting
  • 5 years Talent development

  • Action and results orientated with the ability to measure the impact of interventions
  • Reflective practitioner who can cogently identify improvements and ensure that they are implemented
  • Able to provide practical support to campus teams
