Job Purpose:

To be responsible and accountable for all communication between the site, students and lecturers for a specific programme, lecturing approximately 15hrs a week, creating a culture where students value diversity and have high ethical values. Candidates must have an understanding of the current South African Higher Education regulatory framework and its impact on higher education and private colleges

Key Performance Area:

  • Lecturing approximately 10hrs a week
  • Lesson preparation, marking and moderation as required
  • Lecturer Support
  • Attend Faculty Workshops
  • Co-ordinate subject specific Tutorials
  • Ensure Lecturers integrate appropriate student support services into the classroom based on learner needs
  • Student support
  • Conduct student Orientation Workshops
  • Conduct student Development Workshops (e.g. Plagiarism; Study Skills and other)
  • Meet with Class Representatives and submit reports
  • Conduct class visits and consult with students on all registration and academic queries
  • Analyse and track student performance and implement appropriate interventions
  • Identify and implement interventions for At-Risk Students
  • Integrate student support services in the classroom
  • Coordinate Teaching Experience sessions and track academic progress and submission of portfolios of evidence

  • Provide academic module feedback and collate per programme;
  • Analyse all assessment feedback and plan improvement interventions
  • Analyse and interpret survey results and follow-up with relevant individuals


Minimum Education requirements:

B Ed Honours Early Childhood Development; Foundation Phase Teaching

B Ed Degree Early Childhood Development; Foundation Phase Teaching


Med Degree: Early Childhood Development (ideal)

Work Experience:

3 - 5 years Higher Education Teaching experience or Pre-primary/Foundation Phase Teaching experience
