Job Purpose:

To provide academic leadership for the qualifications and programmes that reside in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Faculty of Rosebank College, an educational brand of the Independent Institute of Education. The Head of School: ICT is responsible for ensuring an increased throughput rate for related qualifications. It is their responsibility to ensure Teaching and Learning strategies are adapted and implemented effectively and consistently across campuses that offer qualifications in the ICT faculty.

Key Performance Area:

Lead the qualifications in the ICT Faculty by monitoring, identifying and acting to mitigate risk areas that would impede student success

  • Manage the pace of content delivery across sites
  • Results analysis and subsequent interventions across sites
  • Coordination of module discipline specialists
  • Interaction with other stakeholders (e.g. T&L specialists)

Support the Programme Coordination on site in identifying and resolving subject or content related items in the ICT Faculty

  • Items raised as a result of student interaction
  • Subject/content specific lecturer development
  • Subject specific intervention decisions

Accountable for ensuring relevant feedback and development between brand and IIE/CAT is actioned timeously to improve student success

  • Coordination of action items raised by the brand and IIE CAT team
  • Items raised for consideration at governance meetings
  • Programme Review
  • Lead brand involvement in content development

Ensuring the relevance of content to industry standards

  • Industry relevant studies
  • Lecturing
  • Content development
  • Moderation of assessments


  • Masters Degree
  • Undergraduate degree in ICT


  • Specialism and industry experience in Software Development, Engineering and Construction drawing and IT Support Systems

Work Experience:

  • 5 years as a Software Developer, IT Support
  • 3 year Lecturing experience in a Higher Education setting


  • High degree of emotional intelligence
  • Skilled in change management
  • Action and results orientated with the ability to measure the impact of interventions
  • Reflective practitioner who can cogently identify improvements and ensure that they are implemented
  • Able to provide practical support to campus teams
  • Able to manage input from multiple stakeholders

  • Able to identify priorities and adjust workload accordingly
  • Have an understanding of academic processes in higher education
  • Passionate about higher education

  • Willing to travel
